History

SDBX Studio evolved as the graphic design and technology component of SANDBOX Studio - a residential, commercial and interior design firm in Tahoe City, California. The Studios were founded in 2001 by a group of innovative designers who wanted to offer businesses an extraordinary design product coupled with exceptional customer service.

The Principals chose SANDBOX for the company name because it reflects the creative, fun and experimental nature of the firm. Reminiscent of building castles in your childhood sandbox, where anything is possible, the Principals wanted to impart the same feeling of boundless creativity to its clients and staff. The shortened name, SDBX suited the graphic arm of the company because it articulated an edgy and technical side of the firm while still maintaining a connection to SANDBOX.

Working together under the same roof, the Principals believe that SDBX and SANDBOX clients will benefit from a multi-disciplinary approach to design – a blend of varied perspectives and experience that challenge the status quo and help create innovative design solutions.

Almost six years since its inception, SDBX has successfully served clients in the Tahoe area as well as numerous businesses in California, Nevada, Hawaii, Colorado, New York, Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina, New Zealand and South Africa.
